The app is not totally of line and the description doesnt tell real features. The app need Internet connection to google maps.

Really bad

Changes time often

Dont give up Gilad! :(

SF recently changed key bus lines. Updates have not been reflected on Pocket MUNI. Perhaps the developer gave up on the app, because as far, he hasn’t responded as he once did. A bummer because it was one of my favorite bus apps! Don’t give up, Gilad! I know its a thankless job! Every now and then, I check this app to see if anything is new. I still like it and still miss it. Being a non-driving, bus-riding SF resident, I use this app several times a day. Depending on the connection, it works very well. Having read some of the comments, if Pocket Muni is slow or inaccurate, it is NOT the fault of the app which is based on NextBus. NextBus is usually dependable, but I have yet to get an explanation from the SFMTA why buses "disappear" when it says theyre a minute away when clearly there are no buses in sight. Having said that, it works great. I love the minibus icons showing the location of the bus along the route. For the price, this is feature-packed. Check out the Favorites feature to keep your most used bus lines in one place. This is a must-have app for all San Francisco visitors and Muni bus-riding residents with iPhones. :^)

Glad its back

Thankfully its updated and it works again.

Relies on NextBus

Unfortunately this app like most if not all the others relies on NextBus for vehicle arrival times. For some reason NextBus has become so unreliable as to be almost useless. So beware of relying on the arrival times posted by this app. GPS location of vehicles shown still seems to be accurate, for whatever thats worth.

Crashes every time I try to update times

Its totally useless software. It worked once and every time I open it and try to update the bus times it crashes. I wouldnt mind if the software was free, but this is terrible.

Rad!!

Loving the today view! I wish there was a bus alarm timer but otherwise totally solid app been using it for years

Used to rock, latest update fail

Wont work on iOS6 anymore, since iOS8 support was apparently added.

Use to love and rely on this app 2 & 3 times a day. Now with latest update I cant even get it to open in IOS 6. Come on!!!! Fix it already! Ive emailed the developer with out any reply. Sad to see a good app go to waste.

L

Until just now (November 7, 2014), the app worked fair enough for the most part, but now with a new update they have missing routes that dont show up at all. 108 is only one of them, and for that Im standing in the bus stop for well over 20 minutes for absolutely no good reason.

Works offline, in Notification Center, partially.

I bought this app because it said it could show predictions in the Notification Center, and that it would continue its predictions if I go offline. The in-app predictions continue offline, but not those in the Notification Center. Also, I wish it gave the option to show in the lock screens Notification Center.

Where are the vehicles?

I used to love this app because it showed where the current vehicles were located on their routes. Now the map view just shows an empty line--not quite helpful.

Not what it once was

This app has recently gotten much better. Increasing my rating to 4 stars. Good work!

Update routes

Didnt realize the 108 updated to being the 25 now. This needs to be reflected in the app.

No longer works

After MUNIs line revamp the app stopped giving schedule predictions. Worthless now.

Dont waste your money

This app USED to work well, but in the last 6 months you cant get any info. Horrible!!

Favorites not fixed?

Ive bad this app for almost two years now and it had been wonderful until my favorites stopped showing up on the favorites list. Can we fix this, please?? I was hoping the update would address it but its the same old stuff, just pretty looking. And now it crashes every time I try to load info for a route from the favorites list.. And I cant reorganize the list without it crashing. And half of my routes dont show up. Sometimes, to get predictions to appear, I have to click my route and stop, close the app, and then open it back up.

Updated review: now crap

MUNI updated its routes and this app went to hell. There is no longer a 71 or 16x. Its now the 7. The 7 shows in the routes list but all the stops reference 71 and 16 still. If I try to add the 7 to my favorites, the app crashes. In addition, I cannot get times from my favorites list, including the N and Nx. Instead, you have to get in range of your stop and click on it. All in all, the app has become useless and the developer does not respond to email. I am now searching to replace it. RIP. ************** This is the first app I ever paid for and its been incredibly worth $.99. The nextbus/nextMUNI websites do NOT translate well to an iPhone. This app solves that problem. Plus, it gives you a current estimate for the next 5 buses so you can plan whether to go get that cup of coffee or run that errand at Walgreens before walking to the next stop. The addition of a "favorites" feature saves even more time: I can see every morning whether I should catch the 71, 16x or N-Judah to get downtown, just by looking at the list of my favorites, which loads the arrival times on the same screen. With the latest version, if I miss a bus, I can quickly see which other routes come to the same stop and can then decide if I should take that line when it arrives. There are two ways I can think of to improve this app to make it 5 stars (and its actually 4 1/2 for me, if that was an option): 1. Incorporate a trip planner feature ala google maps. (I currently open Google Maps, get the transit options, and then open pocketMUNI to get the times for the relevant bus lines). 2. Certain lines have limited runs (e.g. 71-L, 38-L, etc.) and it would be awesome to either note the end of that run for the day or automatically switch to the normal line instead. For instance, if I work late and the 71-L has stopped, have the app provide 71 times instead.

Lines has NOT been updated.

No updates since 10/9/14?

The app stopped showing the location of some trains (specifically in-bound J-Church) several months ago. This is a problem because the times for trains that haven’t yet left the yard are usually wrong. Has the developer abandoned the app?
